Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using StorVault ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Operator" or "User") and StorVault.

2. Description of Service

StorVault is a self-storage management platform that provides tools for facility operators to manage units, leases, tenants, billing, and online presence. Features include automated billing via Stripe, lease management, tenant portals, website builder, dynamic pricing, and reporting.

3. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of your business.

4. Subscription & Billing

• StorVault is offered on a subscription basis. Pricing plans are described on our Pricing page.
• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe.
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as stated in our refund policy.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
• Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless cancelled.
• Failed payments may result in service suspension after a grace period.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use StorVault only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the Platform to store, transmit, or process illegal content or data.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform.
• Use the Platform to send unsolicited communications (spam).
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Platform.
• Resell or sublicense access to the Platform without our written consent.

6. Tenant Data & Your Responsibilities

As an Operator, you are the data controller for the personal data of your tenants that you input into StorVault. You are responsible for:

• Obtaining all necessary consents from your tenants to process their data.
• Ensuring your use of tenant data complies with applicable data protection laws (including GDPR where applicable).
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date tenant records.
• Ensuring your rental agreements, pricing, and business practices comply with local laws.

7. Intellectual Property

StorVault and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by StorVault and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of all data you input into the Platform. By using the Platform, you grant us a limited licence to process your data solely to provide the services.

8. Third-Party Integrations

StorVault integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payments), Supabase (infrastructure), Resend (email), and Google Analytics. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service. StorVault is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StorVault shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless StorVault and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
• We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms.
• Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately.
• You may export your data within 30 days of termination. After that period, we may delete your data.
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction, as applicable.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of material changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
